Sydney from Centrepoint 2004[Travel] April 2004 Here we are looking down at the Queen Victoria Building, where I started this morning. The green bits on top are aged and weathered copper domes. Looks great.
Now I've zoomed down in on the Queen Victoria Building. I like the QVB, even if the shopping is expensive.
Further to the right and we can see Darling Harbour. Those big white sprawling buildings on the left are the Exhibition Centres where I attended many an annual Computer Exhibition. The big roundy thing that's framed between the two tall buildings is the Convention Centre, and to the right of it is the sprawling Harbourside Marketplace where I used to spend a bit of time in the 90s. The little bridge on the right that goes across to Darling Harbour is Pyrmont Bridge. I cannot count how many times I walked across that bridge to Darling Harbour. To the right of the bridge is the National Maritime Museum. Yes, I'm familiar with this bit of Sydney. I spent a lot of time at a lovely restaurant to the right of Darling Harbour, but it's not there any more in the same form.
A more central view of Darling Harbour
I've swung back to the left a bit here to get that big block of buildings.
Now I've zoomed in to Darling Harbour. There's some new weird looking hotels behind the Darling Harbour complex now.
And I've zoomed in on the watery bits of Darling Harbour. That's the Maritime Museum on the right.
